The artists of Kudos want to welcome you to our blog. We want to keep you up to date on the happenings at the gallery - including photos of new work, the stories of our artists, gallery events and the workings of a co-operative venture .
First, a little history of Kudos and how we started. In November of 2010, the local art league hosted a wearables show which was very successful. Several people involved put their heads together and came up with an idea to create a gallery for & by local artists. The art league moved to a larger facility, leaving an adorable small store available for just this idea. And so - Kudos was born. We opened in March of 2011. The artists share the responsibility and cost of running the gallery, but receive 100% of their sales. By taking turns manning the shop, volunteering for special events and contributing their special talents, Kudos benefits from the efforts of many people. Many hands make light work. The name Kudos, contributed by one of our members, was last in a long line of suggestions. It's root comes from Greek meaning glory and honor. It is our hope to honor art and artists.
