JUNE 2 FIRST FRIDAY AT KUDOS

June Kudos First Friday Activities

Face painting will be offered outside Kudos by etched glass artist Gail LaBenne from 5-8pm . Soap maker Jami Ingledue will be inside Kudos to greet customers and answer any questions they may have. As always, there will be yummy treats for our customers.

At First Friday, Kudos is also pleased to feature new artist Virginia Birchfield's art.  Virginia is a graduate of the Columbus College of Art & Design where she studied Interior Design. It was while taking furniture and wood sculpture classes that she discovered her passion for creating pieces for her spaces. She combines her knowledge of wood with the metalworking and painting skills that she accrued while working for her father's auto restoration business and applies them to her work today. Virginia blends materials such as wood, metal, and concrete which are integrated into sculptural pieces that can be functional or simply aesthetic. Her workshop is located in rural Knox County, Ohio where her wood is salvaged from locally sourced trimmings that are cut from decomposed or naturally fallen trees. She draws inspiration for her designs from the character of decay and deterioration and captures these processes by slicing or carving into it to reveal the unique beauty of each piece of wood.

'My work is about the harmony that happens when you juxtapose raw organic shapes with sleek geometric forms. It's about balancing the materials and the beauty in the simplicity.'
Hope to see you this First Friday, 5-8 pm.

FIRST FIRST FRIDAY OF THE SEASON

Hello Kudos Customers -

It is exciting to announce the First First Friday of the 2017 Season this Friday, May 5, from 6-9 pm. Kudos stained glass artist Elizabeth Haley will be on hand outside Kudos under a tent demonstrating her craft.  Tooting Elizabeth's horn (something she never does) Elizabeth created the gorgeous windows and transoms in the entrance of the new Grand Hotel located on the square.  The Grand opened those beautiful doors last summer for the first time.

Inside Kudos, ceramic artist Chris Aust will be on hand to greet and speak with customers.  Of course, there will be yummy treats and water for you as well.

This month Kudos is featuring new work by seed bead artist Pam Gray.  Pam has created wonderful, lightweight, colorful, easy to fasten bracelets.  The bracelets fasten with velcro and each unique design comes directly from Pam's very creative mind.

Kudos is looking for new artists.  Anyone interested in learning more about joining Kudos should contact me at the number below.

You can visit us on our Facebook page at Kudos Art Co-op or on our blog at kudosart.blogspot.com

Look forward to seeing you Friday night where in addition to Kudos many other shops will be open, music will emanate from the square, and food and drink vendors will abound.
